Everyone knows Amsterdam has lot to offer. Everytime I walk through the small Dutch streets, I get amazed by all the hotspots, pretty architecture and the beautiful, unique hotels. Especially the last one. Amsterdam is loaded with great, unique hotels. And since I get a lot of questions recently about the best hotels for a city trip, I thought I’d sum them up for you:
1. INK Hotel by MGallery – Sofitel ($$$)
This is probably one of my favorite hotels in Amsterdam. The INK hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam close by the central station, the famous canals and the shopping streets. The reason I like this bohemian hotel so much is because of the interior and concept. A long time ago the building used to be the headquarters of the Dutch newspaper ‘De Tijd’. And that’s exactly the concept of the hotel. You can see it coming back in their interior, mindset and restaurant name (Pressroom). Definitely worth a visit.
2. Mercure Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station ($$)
If you are looking for a nice hotel in Amsterdam, but don’t want to spend all your money on the hotel, you should definitely consider this Mercure hotel. The hotel is located a bit outside of the city center, but with public transport you’re in no time (10 min.) in the middle of the most vibrant city of the Netherlands. Also look at this interior. Isn’t it gorgeous? Enjoy your drink and food in the skybar overlooking Amsterdam!
3. Moxy ($$$)
The Moxy hotel recently opened on the Westside of Amsterdam. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for your Instagram pictures. My favorite rooms? The gym, the swimming pool and the lobby. I wish I could live in that hotel. Every room in the hotel overlooks the Amsterdam Port and you can even see the NDSM-Werf from the bar upstairs.
4. The Pulitzer Hotel ($$$)
This one was actually high on my list for my internship and with high I mean I actually chose this one. But ended up going for the E-commerce internship since I loved that more than the beauty of this hotel haha. The Pulitzer hotel is located on the Prinsengracht, which is a very well-known street in Amsterdam. The interior is just perfect. If you don’t get to spend a night at the hotel, you should at least enjoy a drink or lunch in the restaurant. With a beautiful view of the garden in the middle of the hotel.
5. Andaz ($$$)
This hotel is a bit inspired by Alice in Wonderlandand and is of course also very gorgeous. But which Amsterdam hotels aren’t? The hotel is also covered in ‘Delfts blauw’, which is a famous Dutch blue color. Just like the Pulitzer Hotel this hotel also has a little garden inside of the hotel. Where you can enjoy the nice Amsterdam weather.
As you have noticed the hotels in the center of Amsterdam are pretty pricey. That is why I recommend to stay outside of the city center. That way you can save up for more fun 😉 The public transport in Amsterdam is very good and you can get anywhere at anytime. Here are some cheap hotels you should consider:
