The hotspot I visited the most during my stay in Amsterdam is Café de Paris/Metropolitain. I even crave their grapefruit juice and avocado toast when I am writing this. Amrdip and I accidentally discovered this dime while we were freezing to death. It was the first place we came across while facing the cold in March. And I couldn’t be happier to have discovered this hotspot!
Metropolitain was actually full when we arrived but they gladly opened up their upstairs hotspot: Café de Paris. The card is mostly the same and the interior is even prettier than the one from Metropolitain. Metropolitain is is a bit dark and the ceiling is very low. While Café de Paris is a bit more cosy with their high ceilings, books and brick stone walls.
On their menu you can find the hottest sandwiches and salads of the moment. From avocado toasts with feta to salmon bagels and french toast with fruit. I can assure you picking just one is very hard! I mostly switched between the salmon bagel with avocado and poached eggs and the avocado toast with feta!
You can find Metropolitain / Café de Paris on Rokin 81 – 83, 1012 KL Amsterdam.
